Development Coordinator, Corporate and Foundation Relations

DEPARTMENT PURPOSE:
The OSU Foundation Office of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) initiates, fosters and manages philanthropic efforts with corporate and foundation donors having multiple giving/partnership interests or requiring strategic, high-level coordination with OSU.
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Coordinator for CFR will be responsible for effectively managing administrative support for the Corporate and Foundation Relations team, including oversight of gifts from arrival through effective processing and reporting.
KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
Perform administrative tasks for the department:
65% Perform required administrative tasks such as filing expense and reimbursement reports, tracking progress of completion of new gift agreements and scheduling meetings.
Provide service to development officers with drafting, proofing, editing, formatting, and finalizing correspondence to prospects and donors according to foundation standards.
Document correspondence within electronic databases.
Oversee budgets, invoice processing, travel reimbursements, expenditures and travel authorizations for development officers.
Master the use of internal systems to retrieve needed data, to input new information and to answer questions from donors about their giving history.
Maintain confidential donor documents and donor information stored in the OSU Foundation's donor database and archive systems.
Prepare, enter and modify Ascend contact reports, action items and proposals for development officers.
Evaluate and analyze data to meet fiscal and fundraising needs for continuous improvement.
Donor Stewardship and Campus Coordination:
20% Assist Development Officers with stewardship efforts, including acknowledgment letters, impact reports and other stewardship needs.
Execute and route grant agreements, manage tracking of required reports.
Assist development officers by interacting with others in the Foundation and University to retrieve needed information, create gift documentation, and answer questions resulting from donor visits.
Work with Marketing & Communications to organize, write and develop stewardship needs related to gift including press releases, social media, magazine articles, impact reports, etc.
for the CFR team.
Work with OSU Special Events office and CFR team to coordinate donor check presentations, scholarship recipient meetings, campus visits and other stewardship events as needed.
Office Coordination and Communication:
10% Attend and participate in required monthly meetings including the Coordinator meetings and other task force meetings, as assigned.
Assist in scheduling meetings with university representatives and other Foundation staff.
Develop annual business plan for self, tracking each goal with AVP towards completion.
Learn and master the CRM database; build and manage queries and other lists; ensure donor contact information, correspondence and documentation is entered and maintained.
Submit purchasing card statements monthly.

Experience:
Education & Certifications-Bachelor's Degree requiredExperience- 1-3 years of professional experience required; experience in non-profit, stewardship or donor relations is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential with particular attention to proper use of the English language, spelling, and grammar.

Must possess the ability to communicate with Foundation and university staff, donors, students and others in a professional manner, have the ability to exercise good judgment, pay close attention to detail, demonstrate the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, meet deadlines and build relationships with internal and external clients alike.
Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
Must adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
Word processing and spreadsheet knowledge necessary (MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, Internet Explorer, MS PowerPoint).
Ability to learn in-house computer systems and database systems.
Desire to be informed, and stay up-to-date on all university news, especially in the areas of research and accomplishments, and all news and information regarding major donors.

Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country.
Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types.
Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
