Time-in-grade:
Applicants must meet one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-12 grade level for consideration for the GS-13 grade level.). For the GS-13 level:
At least one full-time year (12 months) of administrative experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level of the Federal service or private sector that demonstrates experience involving directing, planning, administering, and reviewing administrative and/or agricultural programs. The experience demonstrates knowledge of the laws and regulations governing stabilization, conservation, agricultural credit, and/or administrative programs and of the particular applications of national policies and objectives at the State level; understanding of farming practices and customs in the United States, and of the economic needs of farm communities at the State level. In addition, experience includes developing and recommending detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of mission-oriented program(s). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
